Kate Pawley | General Manager

Kate has been with us since August 2016. She grew up here in Loveland, CO while showing both dogs and horses in 4-H and working for Jennie while in high school. After watching a movie called “Love Leads the Way” Kate decided that she would follow her dream of training guide dogs. She moved to Florida to become a certified guide dog instructor and Apprentice Manager. After 15 years, Kate decided that she missed the mountains, snow, cold and most of all no humidity. Today, she is happily back working with Jennie, and all the amazing dogs at Dog’s Own, which her personal dog, Bella, loves to play with.

Alyson Brown | Daycare/Reception

Despite being native to Missouri, Alyson had the privilege of spending her younger years growing up in Steamboat Spring, Colorado. The opportunities that came with living in the country molded her into the animal fanatic she is today. Her family was heavily involved in mustang rescue. No matter how deeply immersed in horses her family was, it was clear from a young age that she was more of a dog person at heart.

When she was nine years old, Alyson began competition dog sled racing. Character building years training and caring for a pack of Siberian Huskies eventually led her to competition race wins and gained her a decent amount of knowledge in dog conditioning! Many years later, her family relocated to Grand Lake, Colorado. Alyson bought my first show Siberian when she was nineteen while attending school at The Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology. Though she never won a single ribbon, from that point on she knew she had been bitten by the dog show bug. She is now proudly owned by two Silken Windhounds and has a fairly active dog-show lifestyle. She spends a good deal of time lure coursing and participating in whatever dog activity she can get into!

Her additional passions include studying canine nutrition and conditioning, and genetics. She is always excited to share any and all of the knowledge she has!

Holly Trumble | Reception

Holly is our part time receptionist, and she loves dogs! She has been married for 38 years to a very tolerant non-dog husband, who has allowed her to show her Portuguese Water Dogs and have 3 litters of puppies. She and her dogs are now taking Rally Classes and working on Water Titles. For the last 15 years she has been teaching rubber stamping as a Stampin’Up! Demonstrator, and she makes beautiful Thank You and Sympathy cards for us here at Dogs’ Own. She loves working at Dogs’ Own, and can’t think of anything better than kissing dogs all day long! Her favorite thing is seeing dirty, matted messy dogs walk in and beautiful, clean, fuzzy decked out dogs leave the salon. Having the groomers groom her dogs is the most wonderful perk, whether for show or just a fun gorilla cut!

Jackie Hays | Groomer

By age 16, Jackie was busy working with dogs, beginning at her aunt’s dog daycare facility. She kept the trend and stayed in canine focused jobs throughout her atmospheric science and psychology college career. In 2012 Jackie finally followed her heart and attended grooming school here at Dogs’ Own. She is excited to be back at Dogs’ Own, this time as a certified groomer, rather than a student. In her free time, Jackie loves spending time with her family, playing cards, and baking gluten-free goodies!

Erinn Sherlock | Bather

My name is Erinn Sherlock and I’m very happy to say that I’m currently doing something that I love! Dogs have always been my passion since childhood. This meant every one of my jobs had to revolve around providing care in some way for these lovable animals as well! The only thing that really comes second to my passion for dogs is the freelance artistry I do on the side.. It’s probably easy to guess what my main inspiration for that is as well! Though I tend to seem a bit shy, my ultimate aspiration is definitely to come out of my shell and be someone who leaves a positive impact in the lives of people and animals alike! Even if that impact is a small one!
